Prospero Health & Social Care are pleased to share an excellent opportunity for a Surgical Registrar to join a supportive surgical team in the Rotorua, Bay of Plenty region. This role offers hands-on experience across a wide range of surgical cases, strong consultant support, and a clear pathway for professional development. Fixed-Term Contract: 2 February 2026 – 29 January 2027

About the Role
You’ll work within a collaborative surgical department that covers the full spectrum of general surgery, with consultants who have subspecialty interests in colorectal, breast and endocrine, and upper GI surgery.

In this role, you will:
- Assist in elective and emergency surgical procedures
- Participate in on-call rosters for acute surgery
- Manage pre- and post-operative care for surgical patients
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes
Requirements:
- Eligible for Medical Council of New Zealand registration
- Minimum 2 years’ surgical experience
- Strong clinical decision-making and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital setting
