This warm, welcoming 35‑bed home (25 Dementia, 10 Rest Home) is known for its award‑winning care and is seeking a compassionate, confident Registered Nurse to join their team.

About the Role You’ll work across both rest home and dementia care, spending most of your time in the secure dementia unit. You’ll play a key clinical role in maintaining the facility’s high standards and ensuring excellent outcomes for residents.
Key responsibilities include:
Infection control
Completing long‑term care plans
Participating in MDT meetings
Making referrals
Supporting caregivers and providing clinical leadership
General RN duties across the facility
You’ll be supported by:
1 other RN
A hands‑on Facility Manager with 6+ years’ dementia experience
39 HCAs (most medication‑competent)
What We’re Looking For Essential Requirements:
Minimum 1 year of NZ residential aged care experience
Strong understanding of aged care clinical practice
Genuine passion for resident‑centred care — this is absolutely essential
High professionalism, empathy, and compassion when supporting residents and their whānau/families
Excellent communication skills and confidence stepping into a leadership capacity
Comfortable working in dementia-level care
Must live within — or be willing to relocate to within — 20 minutes of the facility in Ōrewa (required for on‑call responsibilities)
Preferred (training available):
InterRAI training (preferred; training available for the right candidate)
Other requirements:
Ability to multi‑task and adapt quickly in a dynamic environment
Flexible to work any day of the week (roster shared between two RNs)
Open to part‑time applicants (minimum 3 days per week)

Collaboration with Rodney Hospice and on‑site link nurses
Roster & Conditions
Preferably full‑time (part‑time considered — minimum 3 days per week)
Rotational roster across 7 days
Shifts: 7am–3pm and 1pm–9pm
No night shifts
On‑call required (after hours & when the second RN is off)
Mostly phone‑based
On‑call allowance: $30/day + $75 per call‑out
On‑call weeks can be alternated or shared between the two RNs
