This position offers an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic Paediatrics department in Rotorua in a structured training role. Accredited by the RACP, the 12-month placement contributes towards both basic and advanced paediatric training. The programme includes rotations in general paediatrics, rural practice, and community/developmental paediatrics, providing broad exposure and a strong foundation for your paediatric career.
In this role, you will:
Collaborate with Paediatricians across General Paediatrics, Neonatology, and Acute Care
Manage a variety of paediatric cases in both inpatient and outpatient settings under supervision
Participate in acute admissions, including neonatal and high-acuity paediatric care
Develop family-centred care skills within a culturally diverse environment
Access support from visiting specialists and regional paediatric networks
Contribute to teaching and mentorship of junior medical staff and students
Current full registration (or eligibility for registration) with the Medical Council of New Zealand
PGY3+ with experience at registrar level in paediatrics (or equivalent)
Dedication to paediatrics as a specialty and enthusiasm for training in this field
Willingness to actively participate in a collaborative and supportive team
