Kensington Health | Whangārei, Te Tai Tokerau (Northland)
Kensington Health is an owner-operated, innovative primary healthcare practice serving the diverse communities of Te Tai Tokerau. Our team of 30 staff work collaboratively to deliver high-quality, whānau-centred care across general practice and aged residential care. One of our owners/directors is a Nurse Practitioner, ensuring NP leadership and voice sit at the heart of our organisation.
We currently provide care to four rest homes in the Whangārei area, with a fifth coming on board shortly. Our NP-led Rest Home Care Service will continue to grow in response to community need.
We are a Foundation-certified practice, working towards Cornerstone, and an NHH-endorsed practice, recognised for delivering high-quality care that meets the standards of Healthcare Homes and Collaborative Aotearoa. This endorsement reflects our commitment to equity, clinical excellence, robust governance, and innovation.
At Kensington Health, we provide holistic, whānau-centred care guided by manaakitanga. Through whanaungatanga, we are committed to excellence, innovation, and supporting our community.
Kensington Health is privileged to care for some of our most vulnerable whānau living in Aged Residential Care (ARC). We are launching a dedicated, NP-led Rest Home Care Service and are seeking an experienced, values-driven Nurse Practitioner Rest Home Service Lead to shape, lead, and grow this model of care.
This mahi sits within the wider Kensington Health kaupapa and reports to the Clinical Director. You will be part of a connected, multidisciplinary team, not working in isolation. While this is a leadership role, it is primarily clinical, with the majority of time spent on-site at Kensington Health and in the rest homes completing rounds and assessments. The role does not include direct staff management responsibilities.
Alongside this leadership role, we are also recruiting two Nurse Practitioners to join and support this expanding ARC service. All three roles are offered at 0.8–1.0 FTE.
Residents deserve consistent, dignified, high-quality care. As Lead NP, supported by a growing NP team and the wider practice, you will help ensure the ARC service is safe, sustainable, well-integrated, and future-focused, while maintaining strong relationships with rest homes and whānau.

You will practise at the top of scope while being well supported by the Lead NP, Clinical Director, and wider multidisciplinary team.
