We are recruiting a full‑time, permanent MRI Technologist to join a well‑established imaging service operating within a large tertiary hospital in the Lower North Island. This role sits within a busy hospital setting that supports a broad range of acute and specialist services and offers strong clinical exposure for experienced MRI practitioners.
You’ll be working as part of a close‑knit, highly experienced MRI team that values shared knowledge, collaboration, and high standards of patient care.
The service operates in a complex hospital setting with a varied and interesting case mix. The team works closely with multiple clinical services, providing essential imaging support across both planned and urgent pathways. This is a role well‑suited to someone who enjoys hospital‑based MRI and values working in a structured, well‑supported environment.

Key responsibilities
Delivering high‑quality MRI imaging in line with clinical and safety standards
Preparing and supporting patients throughout their MRI procedures
Working collaboratively with radiologists, clinicians, and wider hospital teams
Contributing to image quality assurance and service efficiency
Supporting both elective and acute imaging requirements
Registration with the NZMRTB, including a current APC (or eligibility to obtain one) and an MRI Scope of Practice
Full working rights in New Zealand, or eligibility to work in New Zealand with no restrictions (visa)
At least 2 years’ post‑graduate experience in MRI, ideally within a hospital setting
A patient‑focused approach with sound clinical judgement and strong communication skills
Full‑time, permanent employment

Rostered evening shifts, with all after‑hours work paid at overtime rates
