Bupa is seeking a passionate and experienced General Manager to lead our Ascot Care Home & Retirement Village in Invercargill. About the Facility: Bupa Ascot is a large, modern facility with:
104 care beds, including rest home, hospital-level, and secure dementia care
62 retirement village units
A dedicated and diverse team, with robust leadership and clinical support structures already in place
The Role: As General Manager, you’ll lead the entire facility and village, reporting directly to the Regional Operations Manager. This role is KPI-driven and focused on both clinical excellence and commercial performance. You’ll have full accountability for:
Financial targets and occupancy
Staff leadership – managing the Clinical Manager and auxiliary team leaders (e.g., kitchen, cleaning)
Community and stakeholder relationships, including DHBs and referral agencies
You’ll work closely with our Clinical Manager, Business Coordinator, and auxiliary team leaders to ensure the delivery of high-quality care and services, while driving the business forward. What We're Looking For:
Proven commercial experience in a large corporate organisation
Experience being accountable for financial performance, occupancy, and team leadership
A professional and empathetic approach to leadership
Strong stakeholder engagement skills
Aged care or healthcare experience is not required, though helpful
